Friday at last...

So after resurrecting this blog after so many years, I leave and not post for a couple of weeks.  But thanks to not one, but two (!) root canals in the past week and a half, I haven't been stitching much less wanting to do anything other than take a pain pill and put an ice pack on my jaw.  Ouchy!  But, now that's its all done, I'm feeling much better and actually took out some stitching to finish this week.

This is for one of the quilts for the Sandy Hook families.  You may not know, but we live one town away and visit Newtown quite regularly.  The Blue Colony Diner is our favorite place and all the baking is done on site.  Their challah bread is amazing and we always pick up a loaf for Sunday morning french toast.  Yum!  So if you're ever traveling on I84 through Connecticut, make sure you get off Exit 10 for a delicious meal.  Anytime of day or night, you won't be sorry!  Okay - advertising off!

Anyway, back to the quilt square.  The organizer asked for no child's name be put on the squares, but I did sign up for one little boy in particular.  His family and ours have mutual friends, so I wanted to stitch something special.

I just love the book this chart came from and I've stitched it before (for COLES quilts) and plan to stitch it again (and again, and again!).

I've got a few days off next week to coincide with R4's spring break at school.  I'm planning on tackling some finishing work and maybe even clean up the old craft room a bit.  Wish me luck!

Hello Spring!

And hello again blog!  Really, almost 4 years?  Shame on me.  I will spare you the details, but family drama is an understatement.  But all is back to as normal as normal can get.

Stitching has been my sanity-saver, though I've certainly had less time to enjoy it.  But I'm determined to increase my stitching time and I thought what better way than to resurrect this blog as an incentive to get some things finished, photographed and posted.

I did have some finishes in the past few years that I will share.  Baby steps, though.  Hopefully, I can commit to blogging at least once a week for awhile.  Baby steps....
